“Why do you look for life among the dead?”
The dead in heart…
The dead in spirit…
Negative words of poison and low self esteem…
Why do we seek validation from those who can’t inspire goodness and humanity?
Have we lost sight of who we are? Seeking validation from those who seek to compact and depress our spirits? Seeking the wrong in heart to validate our purpose and destiny. Is this right? Of course not… however why do we allow it?
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.” – Marianne Williamson –
Marianne Williamson’s statement is sooo profound!!! Often times we think its the opposite. For some its true but for many like my self, I am terrified of my greatness.
Growing up, I was told I was never going to be nothing… I was ugly… stupid… literally cursed as a child. With this mindset, I did not venture out of the box. I allowed those words to validate me. It was easier to live underneath what people expected me to do and accomplish. I was insecure and rejected anything that involve change from that mindset. If it wasn’t for the help of my mentors and friends… I will still be in that mindset.
To be continue….
